Frequently Asked Questions

General
One of our trainers will visit your home to meet you and your dog and discuss any issues you're facing. We will then demonstrate one of our model dogs so you can see what you can expect after hiring our trainers. From there, we will discuss the various packages we offer and which we feel best suit your (and your dog's) needs.
We provide full obedience training that covers all basic commands, both on and off-leash. Our in-home visits target specific issues like counter-surfing, digging, and more. Unlike some trainers, we work with all breeds, including those often considered challenging.
Yes. You (and anyone in your family who wants to be involved) are integral to your dog getting trained. We need you to practice 5-6 days a week, about 15-20 minutes a day for optimal results.
Once a week. We come to you (with the silver, gold and platinum packages) once a week to start your dog off, then you come to park sessions which are held once a week in The Woodlands.
To effectively resolve specific issues, we need to start with a solid foundation in obedience. This approach helps you become a confident leader for your dog, which is key to addressing and preventing behavioral problems.
Nope. Those are dangerous grounds to tread upon. We'd much rather train a vicious dog!
We train dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Whether your dog is a tiny Chihuahua or a large Mastiff, we have the experience and expertise to work with them.
Yes. Working with and controlling aggression is one of our specialties in The Woodlands.
We focus on training companion dogs for veterans and individuals with PTSD and other psychological conditions. In addition to service animals, we also train therapy dogs that visit hospitals, nursing homes, and treatment centers.
To be a service dog, your dog needs to have an even temperament. Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Standard Poodles, Goldendoodles, etc. typically have a great temperament for service work. For some types of service work, your dog will need to have AKC certifications (such as Canine Good Citizen or Community Canine) which we are able to certify. As always, we would be happy to assess your dog's aptitude for service work for free!

I grew up on a cattle farm in Virginia and have been working with animals all my life from horses, cows, dogs, and even some chickens and ducks. It has been my passion to help people with their animals from an early age.

What I enjoy the most is helping people through the training of service dogs. There is nothing more satisfying than training a dog that can help improve peoples lives and even save their lives with a timely medical alert.

My love for dogs began at 13 when I got my first best friend. Having a dog was challenging at first due to my allergies and my doctor’s advice, but the bond we formed quickly outweighed those concerns. That relationship was priceless and sparked a lifelong passion.

After years of owning dogs, I joined the Army, where I worked closely with handlers and the kennel master. Realizing I could turn my love for dogs into a career lit a fire in me. As I prepared to leave the military, I knew exactly what I wanted to do next.

I attended Starmark Animal Behavior College and earned my Canine Behaviorist Certification. Over the following years, I worked with hundreds of dogs, gaining hands-on experience. In 2022, I attended American Canine Interdiction, becoming certified as a Working Dog Trainer and Explosive Dog Handler.

With years of experience and a deep commitment to continued learning, I’m passionate about helping both dogs and handlers reach their full potential. This journey all started with that first dog—and the bond that changed everything.

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and have loved animals—especially dogs—for as long as I can remember. I grew up around three dogs who were a big part of my everyday life, and that connection only grew stronger over time.

While I was in high school, my family moved to Houston, and that’s when things really changed. My mom started boarding and dog-sitting from home, and I began helping with daily care. What started as a way to pitch in quickly turned into a deep passion for working with dogs—not just being around them, but helping them thrive.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of dogs, from rescue pups to highly trained service dogs. Every experience has taught me more about patience, trust, and the incredible bond between humans and their dogs.

Today, I’m proud to be part of a team that shares my passion for helping dogs and their people live better lives together. Every day is an opportunity to make a difference, and I feel lucky to do what I love.

I've been training dogs for ten years and have been involved in the animal world in many ways. My journey started with rescue work—rehabbing reptiles and volunteering at local shelters—which sparked a deep love for animal care and behavior. That passion naturally evolved into dog training, where I’ve found my true calling.

Over the years, I’ve fostered numerous dogs, volunteered consistently, and dedicated myself to learning as much as I can about dog behavior and communication. I'm especially passionate about finding the most effective and compassionate ways to train each unique dog, tailoring my approach to meet their individual needs.

At home, I have two amazing pups—Squid the Shih Tzu and Houston the Labrador—who challenge me, teach me, and remind me every day why I love what I do.
